Despite the fact that the Boarding Houses are equipped with all modern facilities, our children are encouraged to get used to a life style that is truly Spartan. The dormitories are designed in such a manner so as to respect every child’s individuality and ensure most hygienic living. Well regulated and disciplined life under the effective leadership of House Preceptor (a highly qualified and experienced teacher ) is ensured. Dormitories are spacious, well ventilated surrounded by lush green fields and mountains, providing pollution free environment to students. The bathrooms , toilets and balcony are attached to each dormitory. Hot water is provided using electric/ solar geysers. Each student is provided with a bed, a cupboard, a writing table, a chair, individual ceiling light and pin board. Each bed has window and view of lush green mountains. Laundry services are provided thrice a week. Students are provided with 100% electricity back up through inverters and generators.
A highly functional spacious and airy dining hall has been designed and built with the idea that meal time should be gracious and enjoyable. Students eat ‘family style’ six to a table. The school mess caters to the needs of young growing children. A balanced and healthy diet enriched with butter, ghee, paneer, fruits, almonds, milk shake etc is ensured by a qualified dietitian.Chinese cuisines are also served. Paneer is provided every alternate day. Milk is served three times a day. All the dairy products used are of Amul. Tava Chapatis are served hot in lunch and dinner. Keeping students health at priority cooking oil of Fortune/ Nature Fresh is used. Dry ration is also of equally competent quality.
Food and Nutrition
The Royal College has introduced a unique idea of ‘National Level Horse Riding’ with a theme of learning horse riding while developing an expertise in riding and to be able to participate in National Level competition which includes Hurdles and Polo. The child gains tremendous confidence at the end of this event. The course enables the child to muster more courage and valour.
Traditional Values
The Royal College encourages and entices its children to take active part in Music and Dance events and spontaneity of their response is overwhelming. Instrumental and Vocal music has become dear and and even fantasy for them. Similarly, western dances and Indian dances like Kathak and Bharat Natyam are endeared by the children and even inter house competitions are held in Music and Dance for annual event.
